p.decimator
p.decimator is a Max/MSP abstraction that loads a sample and splits it into ‘n’ slices and rearranges the slices according to the user’s input. yeah, another recycling object! at its core is 2d.wave~, one of my favorite MSP objects. this version has been built using Max/MSP 4.5.7, but I don’t think there are any objects included that will prevent it from running in older versions (going back a few years at least to when rate~ , 2d.wave~ were introduced).
included in the download folder:
p.decimator – the abstraction
p.decimator.help – some insrutruction on use
p.decimator.readme – this document
if you want to see what p.decimator is about but haven’t got max/MSP you can download the free runtime version from www.cycling74.com and open the p.decimator.help-build file in this.
I’d love to know how you use it and would be delighted to host any improvements, interfaces etc on my website. I’m particularly interested in how people devise ways of getting sequences into the abstraction, especially those that generate change over time…
