p.storage for max 5 – beta release

well, I started to update p.storage for max 5 a couple of weeks ago and its just about finished now. despite the improvements to max (or perhaps because of them?) it took longer than I thought it would, but I think the result was worth the effort. i was going to wait until the next update for max was announced before releasing p.storage because there are currently a few bugs with pattrstorage, however, its mostly functional anyway, so i thought I’d put it up here in the hope that some of you maxers might like to see it. its in a sort of beta phase until I can test it out properly when the pattrstorage bugs are fixed so I’d especially welcome any thoughts, suggestions or problems that you find so i can try to incorporate them into the next update.

gone has the previous editing window, which was always a bit of a hack that I kept meaning to sort out but never quite got around to it. most of the things you could do with it are incorporated into the pattrstorage object now anyway, so it became redundant. in its place I’ve put together a window where you can manage subscription lists for the subscribe settings and edit alias names for your pattr paths. some information about the pattrs that are visible to pattrstorage is also available which may be useful.

rather than releasing a bpatcher interface and a separate p.storage absraction, i decided to merge the two into one interface object, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to hack at it for your own means. hope you enjoy it.

p.storage has now been released as a new updated version. starting at version 5.0 no less.
