introducing p.storagemarker and update to p.storage 5.02

All downloads and documentation for p.storage is not at p.wiki

I’ve added a few features, fixed a few bugs and incorporated the pattrmarker object into p.storage.

the new abstraction p.storagemarker will locate and open any instance of p.storage that is residing in a currently open patch. Quite useful if you have a few of them located deep down in your patches somewhere. What’s more you can decide whether p.storages are visible or not to p.storagemarker.

A full list of the changes to p.storage in version 5.02

• enabled external read and write messages;
• getcurrent message updates current preset in p.storage;
• changed keyboard keys to page up and page down -Ahhh, I went through this before and forgot about it- the ‘n’ and ‘p’ keys conflict with writing preset names in the dialog box;
• added a p.winpos attribute to place instances of p.storage where you want them;
• added pattrmarker abstraction (p.storagemarker) to open and locate instances of p.storage;
• added setall button in the client manager to set values of a client to all presets;
• fixed edit of preset names to accept multi element symbols;
• fixed remote insert before and insert after commands;
• search now shows the correct number of finds;
• now correctly reads xml files that do not use slotnames (but use integers).

    just discovered p.storage – can’t thank you enough for this, it’s fantastic & exactly what I need for projects.

    took me a few hours to figure out how it fits together, but now it’s all making sense. could use a more gentle tutorial/introduction/documentation – it’s all there but it’s a bit difficult to find everything. maybe if I have time I’ll throw something together

    anyway thanks again.

    Perry, pattrstorage and the rest of the pattr family changed my patching life, they are such powerful objects. I only hope p.storage does it justice.

    I’ve made a couple of further enhancements to p.storage and have started to document it a bit more fully. Unfortunately, it seems to take almost as long to clearly explain things as it took to patch together p.storage in the first place. Well, perhaps not quite as long! Any help from you, or anyone else out there, would be most appreciated, especially as I find it difficult to put myself in the position of someone seeing p.storage for the first time. Hopefully, I’ll have something ready in a week or so and will let you know.
